Woman injured, dog killed after being hit by minivan in Waterloo
A 71-year-old Waterloo woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a car while walking her dog. Police say the dog died. Police say the investigation is ongoing.

A 71-year-old Waterloo woman is recovering after being hit by a minivan Friday morning.
Police say the woman was walking a dog across the intersection of University Avenue E. and Woolwich Street in Waterloo just before 8 a.m., when she was hit by a Toyota Sienna.
The woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The dog died in the collision.
The driver of the van, a 44-year-old Waterloo woman, was not injured.
Police say the intersection was closed for several hours. The investigation remains ongoing but police say "charges are anticipated."
