1 teen, 1 man charged after shots fired in Waterloo early Friday morning
No reports of physical injuries, police say
A 15-year-old and a 25-year-old have been charged after police investigated reports of gunshots in Waterloo early Friday morning.
Police initially indicated one of those arrested was 19, but in an update Friday morning, indicated the second male was 25.
They have been charged with several offences, including:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
- Assault with a weapon.
- Reckless discharge of firearm.
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm.
- Possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order.
Both remain in custody pending a bail hearing.
Officers were called to the area of University Avenue E. and Weber Street N. at 3:30 a.m.
Officers located two male suspects and arrested them for weapons offences.
"There are no reports of any physical injuries, and investigators believe this was a targeted incident," police said in a release.
The investigation remains ongoing and police are expected to be in the area throughout the day on Friday.
