A fire engulfed a shed in a rural area of Chatham-Kent Saturday night exposing four large fuel tanks that had to be cooled down.

In a Sunday morning news release, the municipality of Chatham-Kent said that at 10:33 pm Saturday, crews from fire stations in Dover, Chatham, Wallaceburg and Tupperville responded to a large structure fire at 7436 Mallard Line.

The crews from the Dover station were first to arrive at the scene where they encountered a large detached steel clad shed "fully involved."

"Four large fuel tanks were cooled," the release said.

"Due to collapse, the fire was deep seated and needed extensive overhaul to extinguish the fire."

Aerial support from Chatham station and tanker support from Wallaceburg station was also needed.

The release said a three tanker water shuttle was established and a total of 30 firefighters were on scene along with other first responders.

The municipality said that there are no injuries and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
