Fire destroys hamlet garage in Baker Lake, Nunavut
Police said volunteer firefighters tried to extinguish the fire but as of later that morning, the hamlet garage had been completely destroyed.
Baker Lake RCMP and Nunavut's fire marshal investigating
Nunavut RCMP say they're investigating after a fire destroyed Baker Lake's hamlet garage on Sunday morning.
Baker Lake RCMP said they noticed the fire around 5:30 a.m., according to a press release issued Monday.
Volunteer firefighters tried to extinguish the fire but as of later that morning, it had been completely destroyed, they said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is unknown.
Baker Lake RCMP and the territorial fire marshal's office are investigating
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to share is being asked to contact the RCMP.
