2 people charged for possessing weapons with 1 charged for aggravated assault after Friday stabbing

A man underwent surgery after he was stabbed in a machete attack near a convenience store in Winnipeg's Westdale neighbourhood.
Police arrived at the scene on Dale Boulevard, between Honeybourne Crescent and Roblin Boulevard, around 9:35 p.m. on Friday for a report of an assault, a release said on Sunday.
Police used multiple tourniquets on a 36-year-old victim who was suffering from a serious upper-body injury after being stabbed, the release said. The man was taken to hospital in stable condition and had surgery.
A little after 10:00 p.m., police, including the police helicopter, located a vehicle on Norlorne Drive with passengers officers believed were connected with the assault, the release said.
Police arrested four people in the vehicle and seized an air pistol and machete. Investigators determined the victim and attackers in the vehicle got into a verbal fight before parting ways, police said.
Police believe the attackers returned to the convenience store armed with a machete, which was used to assault the victim, the release said.
Police have charged a 15-year-old boy from Winnipeg with aggravated assault, two counts of possessing a weapon, two counts of failing to comply with his sentence and two counts of failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking, police said.
The teenager was detained in custody.
A 20-year-old man from Garson, Man., is facing two charges of possessing a weapon and was released on an undertaking, police said.
