The body of Bronson Emery Dale Kequahtooway, 30, was found last week

The Winnipeg Police Service's homicide unit is investigating after the body of a man originally from a southern Saskatchewan First Nation was found on Friday in Winnipeg's Daniel McIntyre area.
The body of Bronson Emery Dale Kequahtooway, 30, from Zagime Anishinabek First Nation, about 150 kilometres east of Regina, was found in a back lane off Wellington Avenue, between Home and Arlington streets, on Friday just before 10 a.m., police said in a news release on Monday.
Kequahtooway had been living in Winnipeg, police said.
Officers were called to the area for a report of "suspicious circumstances" and located the man who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two residents in the neighbourhood, including one who called 911, told CBC they saw what they believe was a man's body in a garbage bin on Friday morning.
A stretch of the back lane, where a handful of garbage and recycling bins were lined up behind police tape, remained cordoned off by police into the afternoon.
Police are investigating the incident as a homicide and have notified the victim's family, the release said.
