Two people are facing numerous charges after a woman's intimate pictures were shared with her employer and forwarded without her consent, Winnipeg police say.

On Jan. 9, a man who had previously been in a relationship with the victim sent intimate pictures he took to an official at the school division where the woman worked, according to a news release from the Winnipeg Police Service.

The man was arrested on Jan. 15 and has been charged with distributing an intimate image without consent; voyeurism; administering a noxious thing with intent to aggrieve or annoy; assault by choking, suffocating or strangling; uttering threats; disobeying a court order; and two counts of assault.

After receiving the images, police say, the school division official forwarded the content to additional people. The official was charged with distributing an intimate image without consent and was arrested on Thursday.

Police are reminding the public that it is a crime to share intimate images of someone without their consent.
