Winnipeg man charged after allegedly making arrangements to sexually assault child
46-year-old faces several charges, including possession of child pornography

A Winnipeg man faces several charges after he allegedly made arrangements to sexually abuse a child.
Police say they were tipped off by the National Child Exploitation Centre last month that a 46-year-old man in Winnipeg had discussed the sexual abuse of children with an undercover agent from the U.S. in a private online chat room.
The agent told the suspect he knew of a mother who allowed the sexual abuse of her 10-year-old daughter, police said in a news release Friday. The man allegedly agreed to be put in contact with the mother and made arrangements to travel to the U.S.
Winnipeg police's internet child exploitation unit searched a residence and arrested the man without incident Thursday, the release said.
The 46-year-old faces several charges related to making arrangements to commit sexual offences against a child and possession of child pornography.
Police say he was released on a release order.
