A driver has died following a single-vehicle rollover near Sundown, Man., about 10 kilometres north of the United States border.

Police say vehicle veered off road, hit trees before rolling over and ejecting driver

A driver has died following a single-vehicle rollover near Sundown, Man., about 10 kilometres north of the United States border. 

Emerson RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 201, close to Sundown Road southeast of Winnipeg, on Saturday morning.

Police said the vehicle veered off the road and hit some trees, causing it to roll over. The 47-year-old female driver was thrown from the vehicle, police said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police believe she was travelling at a high rate of speed and was not wearing a seatbelt.

Further investigation is being done.
