Nunavut RCMP charge former executive director of Rankin Inlet women's shelter with fraud

A woman who formerly helmed the Kataujaq Society women's shelter in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, has been charged with fraud over $5,000 and breach of trust after funds went missing from the society.
In a news release Friday, Nunavut RCMP said they arrested Joyce Kent, 54, in Winnipeg this week, with the help of Manitoba RCMP's integrated law enforcement team.
Kent was the Kataujaq Society's executive director.
Kent is out on bail and is scheduled to appear in Rankin Inlet court on June 3.
RCMP said the arrest came after an investigation that began last August.
RCMP did not say how much is alleged to have been stolen.
