Charge laid in fiery crash on Sarnia highway

Ontario Provincial Police say a 26-year-old from Brampton has been charged after a fiery crash on a highway in Sarnia sent two people to hospital on Wednesday.

Ontario Provincial Police say a 26-year-old from Brampton has been charged after a fiery crash on a highway in Sarnia sent two people to hospital on Wednesday.

Two tractor-trailers collided on Highway 402 around 3 a.m., according to an OPP news release issued Wednesday.

One of the vehicles became fully engulfed in flames.

One of the individuals taken to hospital has serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The other sustained minor injuries.

Police closed the highway for several hours.

The individual is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving causing bodily harm

The accused is scheduled to appear before the provincial offences court on June 5.
