Sgt. Ed Sanchuk of the OPP said the truck spilled approximately 20,000 litres of fuel. Emergency crews, including the Ministry of the Environment and cleanup teams, were on-site to manage the spill and ensure environmental safety.
"The good news out of this, the driver was not injured," Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said in a Sunday social media post.
"The bad news, thousands of litres of fuel has spilled into the roadways into a nearby ditch."
The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with dash cam footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
