Power restored after afternoon outage in downtown Toronto, say utility providers
The cause of the outage is being investigated, according to Hydro One

Power has been restored to up to 1,000 customers in Toronto's downtown core, after an unknown issue at a transmission station caused a large outage Wednesday afternoon, according to Hydro One and Toronto Hydro.
Toronto Hydro posted on X just after 3 p.m. that its crews were working with Hydro One to respond to an issue at John Transmission Station.
Just after 5 p.m., Hydro One said on X that power had been restored to all Toronto Hydro customers and the cause of the outage is being investigated.
It's unclear exactly how many customers were affected, but the outage boundary stretched north-south from Bloor to Front streets, and east-west from Bathurst to Jarvis streets, a Hydro One spokesperson said in an email.
Hydro One provides Toronto Hydro with electricity, which is then distributed to customers in the city.
