Over 16,700 customers still don't have power in Ontario after ice storm: Hydro One
Power to be restored for most residential customers by end of week, Hydro One says

Hydro One says 16,789 customers are still without electricity on Wednesday, more than a week after a powerful spring storm encrusted parts of central and eastern Ontario with ice.
The utility's outage map shows most of those are in the Peterborough and Georgian Bay areas, both hard hit by the March 30 ice storm.
Power has been restored to more than 99 per cent of customers, Hydro One said in a statement Wednesday.
The utility said it expects power to be restored to most residential customers by the end of the week, except for those needing inspections by the Electrical Safety Authority due to damage.
Of those who are still without power, 10,304 involve secondary properties, such as cottages and trailers, Hydro One said.
The weather on Wednesday is favourable, the utility said, meaning crews can use helicopters and boats in several locations to continue restoration work.
More than a million homes and businesses in the provinces experienced outages due to the storm.
Windy, rainy weather hampered restoration efforts in the days that followed.
