Pedestrian killed in Naughton-area crash, Sudbury police say

Sudbury police say a pedestrian has been killed following a crash early Monday morning.

Police say a 26-year-old woman has been killed after being hit by a vehicle in the western outskirts of Sudbury early Monday morning.

Around 5 a.m., police were called to MR 55 in the area of Simon Lake Road near Gorman Street in the community of Naughton.

Police say the driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

When officers and paramedics arrived, they tried life-saving measures on the pedestrian.

Police say the road is now open again, and that they are continuing their investigation.
