A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle at a highway intersection in Vaughan, Ont., on Saturday.
Around 1:30 a.m., a 76-year-old man was hit by a person driving a white BMW at the intersection of Highway 7 and Martin Grove Road, York Regional Police said early in the day.
Police said the man was unconscious when emergency crews arrived on the scene and later lost vital signs.
Responders began performing CPR as the man was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead, they said.
The driver remained at the scene, police said.
The intersection and parts of surrounding roads were closed overnight while police investigated.
Police are asking any witnesses to contact York Regional Police's Major Collision Investigation Unit.
