When the first crew arrived, the building had already been evacuated and there was heavy smoke on the second floor.
Firefighters got the blaze under control within about 15 minutes and used a thermal imaging camera to confirm it had been caused by a dryer in one of the suites.
Smoke was ventilated from two floors prior to allowing residents back inside.
The occupant of the suite received a small burn on his hand and was treated at the scene.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental and the initial damage estimate is $150,000.
