A New Year's Eve house fire has claimed the life of a man in Shubenacadie, N.S.
Emergency services responded to a report of a house on fire on Highway 215 in Shubenacadie at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to RCMP spokesperson Cindy Bayers.
On arrival, officers found the home on fire and heavily smoke damaged, she said.
A 73-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other occupants of the house, a 65-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, managed to escape and were not injured.
The fire is not believed to be suspicious, Bayers said.
