Weather warnings in place for northeastern Nova Scotia, parts of Cape Breton
Thousands of Nova Scotia Power customers were without electricity Sunday evening

Thousands of people across Nova Scotia lost their electricity on Sunday due to windy conditions, according to Nova Scotia Power.
The utility's outage map showed 13,438 customers without power in the late afternoon. That number fell to just over 9,000 by evening.
Environment Canada has issued weather warnings for northeastern Nova Scotia and parts of Cape Breton.
The national forecaster is warning of winds up to 90 km/h in Antigonish, Guysborough, Pictou, Richmond and Cape Breton counties, as well as south of Mabou in Inverness County.
Strong winds are expected to begin Sunday evening and weaken Monday morning.
There are winter storm warnings in place for Victoria County and north of Mabou in Inverness County. Snowfall amounts of 20 centimetres or more are possible.
"Communities near the coast from Mabou to the Meat Cove area in Inverness County will see a mixture of snow and rain and little accumulations," said Environment Canada.

"Meanwhile, communities near the coast in Victoria County from Dingwall southward to Englishtown will experience just some scattered showers and flurries. The main concern would be accumulating snowfall over higher terrain on Route 30."
These weather conditions will be accompanied by strong winds, up to 90 km/h, according to the forecast.
