A 42-year-old Interlake man missing for two weeks has been found dead.

Martin 'Raymond' Murdock was last seen March 31 while walking in Fisher River Cree Nation, about 200 kilometres north of Winnipeg.

RCMP issued a public plea on Friday for help in locating Murdock, who wasn't reported missing until a couple of days before then.

RCMP said in the news release that they had followed several leads but were unable to locate him.

In an updated release on Monday, police said Murdock was found dead.

No information was provided on where or when he was found, or how he died.

The investigation is continuing pending the results of an autopsy, the RCMP said in the release, adding "our thoughts are with the man's family, friends and community at this time."
