A 32-year-old man from Winnipeg died after being hit by a train west of the city earlier this week.

Emergency crews were called around 8:15 p.m. Sunday about a pedestrian being struck by an eastbound train near the Hall Road crossing, just off Wilkes Avenue, in the rural municipality of Headingley, RCMP said in a news release on Thursday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional information has been provided.

RCMP and the CN Police Service continue to investigate.
