Community raises $30K for 105 cats rescued from single home
Most cats were in fair condition, Guelph Humane Society says
The community has raised more than $30,000 for the 105 cats rescued from a single home in Guelph last week.
The Guelph Humane Society took more than 100 cats out of a home between Wednesday and Friday last week. All of the cats have now been assessed and provided with basic veterinary care such as vaccinations, micro-chipping, spays and neuters and parasite control.
Most of the cats were in fair condition, according to the humane society.
There were some cats that needed veterinary care urgently, however. One cat, named Sophia, had a severe eye condition and had to have her eye removed.
The humane society is thanking all those who donated, and they're hoping more people will reach out to help.
They will let the public know when the cats are available for adoption.
