Cambridge woman arrested after Guelph bus hit and killed man last month
City employee, 49, was crossing the street when he was hit by bus

A 57-year-old Cambridge, Ont., woman faces two charges after a Fergus man was hit and killed by a transit bus in Guelph last month.
Police say the woman was arrested on Sunday and now faces charges of criminal negligence causing death and careless driving causing death. She is due to appear in court on March 28.
A 49-year-old Fergus man died on Jan. 8 after he was hit by a bus in Guelph's downtown core. He had been crossing the road at the intersection of Wyndham Street North and Carden Street when he was hit just after 1:30 p.m. ET.
Tara Baker, chief administrative officer for the city, confirmed in January that the man worked for the city.
"Our focus is on supporting the employee's family, colleagues and all city staff who have been impacted by this terrible event, including the transit operator," Baker said in the January statement.
Family and friends have identified the man killed as Braden Carberry, a father of three. His obituary says he was the supervisor for the city's municipal enforcement and security teams. He was also described as an "avid outdoorsman" who enjoyed passing on his knowledge to his friends and family.
"Braden was an honest, kind, thoughtful, and hardworking man — whether at work, at home with his family, or in the boat with a fishing rod in his hand," his family wrote in his obituary.
