Police release name of Alberta casino shooting victim
Police in Alberta have released the name of a 24-year-old man shot dead at a casino near Edmonton early Saturday morning.
Const. Barb Roy of Stony Plain RCMP says the dead man was Muhammed Ali Ibrahim of Edmonton.
Roy confirmed that a 20-year-old woman who had recently moved to Edmonton from Ontario was injured.
The woman, whose name has not been released, is in hospital in stable condition.
There have been no arrests and police are still looking for suspects.
The manager of the River Cree Casino in Enoch, Alta., said a fight broke out inside the lounge and staff called police.
Just before officers arrived, shots were fired outside the building's main entrance.
The victim was found on the ground.
Investigators from the Stony Plain RCMP detachment and the Edmonton police forensics unit are working on the case.
