Police investigate suspicious death in northeast Edmonton

Edmonton police responded to reports of a disturbance in the city's northeast Sunday night. A man who was found at the scene later died in hospital.

Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man after being called to a disturbance in northeast Edmonton on Sunday night.

The 35-year-old man was found unresponsive near 118th Avenue and Wayne Gretzky Drive at around 9:30 p.m., said a news release from the Edmonton Police Service.

EMS provided lifesaving measures at the scene. The man was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
