Police investigating after officer unintentionally fires service weapon
Firearm was shot out a window from inside CPS District 2 office
Calgary police are investigating the unintentional discharge of a service-issued firearm at a CPS district office Sunday morning.
According to police, an officer unintentionally discharged a round from their pistol inside the District 2 office at approximately 10:45 a.m.
No one was injured inside the building.
The bullet travelled outside through a second-storey window facing south overlooking the officers' parking lot along 17th Avenue S.W. and the community of Glendale across the road.
Investigators thoroughly searched the area and made inquiries in the Glendale area to ensure no one was hit or any property was damaged.
The bullet has not been located.
The General Investigations Unit was called to the scene to gather and preserve evidence, police said.
The Professional Standards Section will also review the incident.
No other details were released.
