Netherlands liberation anniversary — where to watch

CBC News presents a network special program hosted by chief correspondent Adrienne Arsenault, on Friday, May 2, 2025. It is the anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands during the Second World War, and CBC News will be on the ground at Groesbeek Cemetery where 2,338 Canadians are buried.

The first weekend in May marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands during the Second World War. On Friday, May 2, 2025 at 8 a.m. ET, join CBC News chief correspondent Adrienne Arsenault for a commemoration broadcast from Groesbeek Cemetery — where 2,338 Canadians are buried — to keep their stories and sacrifices alive.
