The Workers Arts and Heritage Centre (WAHC) is marking International Workers Day with the Hamilton and District Labour Council on May 1 with a gathering of food and music and CBC Hamilton will be there!

Join us from 5 to 7 p.m. at the centre, 51 Stuart Street, in Hamilton.

The free event also features live music by Edgar Breau, a local songwriter and leader of "punk-prog pioneers" Simply Saucer, as well as DJ sets and a colouring station for kids and families.

Join us on May 1!

CBC Hamilton journalists will be there to hear from you, take questions and discuss workers' issues in the city. Say hello, share a story or find out more about our news team based right here in Hamilton.

The event is part of WAHC's programming for May Day, which also includes a screening this Saturday, April 26, at 7 p.m. of Roz Owen's and Jim Miller's documentary feature Portrait of Resistance: The Art & Activism of Carole Condé & Karl Beveridge.
