Singer Anne Murray to host Walk of Fame gala

Canadian singer Anne Murray will host this year's ceremony to induct new celebrities into Canada's Walk of Fame.

Murray, who got her star on the Walk of Fame in Toronto in 1998, will preside at a gala event to be held at Toronto's Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts on Sept. 12.

The 2009 inductees for what are now called the Canada Honours include Blue Rodeo, Kim Cattrall, Tom Cochrane, Dsquared2, Howie Mandel, Robert Munsch, Chantal Petitclerc and Raymond Burr.

The two-hour gala will celebrate their accomplishments and feature special performances. 

Murray, known as Canada's Songbird for her biggest hit, has sold over 54 million recordings in the past 40 years.

She has won four Grammy Awards, 24 Junos and three American Music Awards in her career. 

Murray, 64, is currently working on her memoirs.
