Early morning house fire caused by 'careless use of smoking materials'

"Careless use of smoking materials" has been deemed the cause of an early morning house fire in Windsor, according to officials.

WFRS would like to take this opportunity to remind people that if you are smoking outside to properly extinguish and discard your smoking materials in a deep ashtray or can filled with sand. Please don't flick your cigarette butts off a balcony or porch.*AD

No injuries have been reported.
The damage estimate was originally set at $210,000 and raised to $285,000 after an investigation.
