Man dead in snowmobile collision in Brock Township
Durham police say the man, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene

Police in Durham Region are investigating after a 55-year-old man from Cannington was killed in a snowmobile collision on Sunday evening in Brock Township.
The man was travelling by snowmobile near the intersection of Thorah Side Road and Thorah Concession 3, a rural area east of Lake Simcoe, according to a news release from Durham police on Monday.
He lost traction, and a second snowmobile that was following behind him hit his vehicle, ejecting the man from his snowmobile and causing severe injuries, police said.
Emergency services arrived at the scene around t 7:35 p.m. and tried to perform life saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police say. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
