Oliver & Bonacini restaurant eyes mid-October opening at Remai Modern

The restaurant inside Saskatoon's new Remai Modern Art Gallery is preparing to open just in time for the opening of the gallery itself.

"We're working towards mid-October," said Kelsey Rutherford, a public relations officer for Toronto-based Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants.

"It's looking like it will be around the same time as the gallery," which is scheduled to open Oct. 21.

Gallery to be closed Mondays

The admission prices and operating hours for the new gallery have also been confirmed.

The gallery will be closed on Mondays and open from 10 a.m. CST to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. It will be open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday.

Admission prices are $12 for adults or $10 for students, youths and seniors. A family group — of up to two adults and up to five children — will pay $30 for admission.

There will be no charge for kids five and under.

Admission to the museum will be free during its opening weekend on Oct. 21 and 22.

That's in addition to a program that will offer six free days of admission to the entire museum every year.

Admission to the city's previous flagship gallery, the Mendel Art Gallery, was free.
