A 53-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in Saskatoon's first homicide of 2025.
Police say they were called to a stabbing at a business in the 3900 block of Millar Avenue — an industrial area on the north end of the city — at around 8 p.m. CST Monday.
The 23-year-old victim was taken to hospital where he was declared dead.
Police say a suspect fled the scene. Later, a person was arrested about 10 kilometres away near the corner of Second Avenue South and Spadina Crescent East, close to the Remai Modern art gallery in River Landing.
Police haven't named the accused or the victim. They continue to investigate.
Last year, Saskatoon had 15 homicides, the most since 2019, when there were 16.
