All of Prince Edward Island under a freezing rain warning
P.E.I. to see up to 8 hours of freezing rain Tuesday, says Environment Canada

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Prince Edward Island, warning that there could be as much as eight hours of freezing rain on Tuesday.
The weather agency says rain is forecast to transition to freezing rain Tuesday afternoon for Queens and Kings counties, while freezing rain over Prince County is expected to change over to snow in the afternoon.
"Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery," Environment Canada warns. "Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas."
The freezing rain could last anywhere from two to eight hours, according to Environment Canada, but all precipitation across the region is expected to end by Tuesday night.
The March break is underway for public schools on P.E.I. so classes didn't have to be cancelled.
Holland College and UPEI were closed Tuesday due to the forecast. Island Montessori Academy and Collège de l'Île also remained closed for the day.
The Atlantic Veterinary College Veterinary Teaching Hospital remained open for emergencies.
