Montague hospital ER closing early 2nd night in a row due to staffing issue
Kings County emergency department expected to reopen Wednesday morning, March 26

The emergency department at Kings County Memorial Hospital is closing early for the second night in a row due to reduced staffing levels, Health P.E.I. says.
In a news release issued late in the day, the agency said the Montague hospital's ER was closing at 6:30 p.m., and is expected to reopen Wednesday, March 26 at 8 a.m.
The same thing happened Monday night.
Anyone with emergency medical needs is advised to call 911 or seek emergency services when:
- Experiencing discomfort or tightness in the chest;
- Experiencing unusual shortness of breath;
- Experiencing severe or persistent abdominal pain;
- Experiencing prolonged and persistent headache or dizziness;
- An injury may require stitches or involve a broken bone;
- A child has prolonged diarrhea or vomiting; or
- A baby under six months of age has a fever of 38°C (100.4°F) or higher.
Anyone with health concerns or who needs immediate health information should call 811 to speak to an experienced registered nurse.
