A 31-year-old woman from Lunenburg, N.S., died in a crash in Lunenburg County on Sunday morning.

RCMP say police, fire and paramedics were called to the scene on Highway 324 in Lilydale, just outside Lunenburg, at 11:15 a.m. AT.

When they arrived, they saw a Jeep Compass on its roof alongside the highway.

RCMP say their investigation indicates the vehicle was travelling southbound when it left the roadway, hit a tree and flipped onto its roof.

The driver died at the scene.
