The case of a Truro, N.S., man who's been missing for 15 months is now part of the province's major unsolved crimes program.

Zachery Vaughan Kellock, 23, left his home in Truro on the afternoon of Jan. 14, 2024, getting into a car with two other people. When he had not returned two days later, his family reported him missing to Truro police. RCMP took over the investigation after it was learned he had been last seen at a Millbrook First Nation address.

"Zach's disappearance was considered suspicious from day one," RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Tichonchuk said in a release on April 11 that revealed Mounties have been investigating his disappearance as a homicide.

On Monday, the Nova Scotia Justice Department announced it is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

In a statement, the department said police believe "criminality was involved in Mr. Kellock's disappearance." The statement also noted that Kellock's body has not been recovered and no charges have been laid.

Anyone with information about the case can call the unsolved crimes program at 1-888-710-9090 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
