The Nova Scotia government has added another name to its list of unsolved homicides and is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information that leads to the conviction of those responsible.

On Aug. 14, 2022, police received a report of a suspicious death on Brian Street in East Preston. They found the body of Oren Edward Williams, 38, on the side of the road at the end of a driveway.

RCMP are investigating Williams's death as a homicide and they say people may have information they have not shared with police.

In an obituary posted at the time of his death, Williams was described as a member of the East Preston United Baptist Church who loved music and played the drums.

There are now 121 active cases in the province's major unsolved crimes program.

In order to collect a reward through the program, a person providing information must be prepared to testify in court and that testimony must lead to a conviction. The amount of the reward is determined by the investigative value of the information that's provided.
