Nova Scotia RCMP have closed the book on a firearms theft last summer with the recovery of four guns near a school in Whycocomagh, N.S.

In a release Tuesday morning, police said the four firearms were located on the ground last Thursday. They were rusty and covered in grass. RCMP have linked the weapons to a break-in in Whycocomagh last year.

Just before midnight on June 26, 2024, police responded to an alarm at a business on Highway 105. They determined that multiple firearms had been stolen from the business.

Police searched the area and recovered five guns and a quantity of ammunition. At the time, it was believed four firearms were missing.

Four days later, RCMP arrested and charged a 19-year-old and a 14-year-old with breaking and entering and weapons offences.
