Students and staff returning to class Monday at J.L. Ilsley High School in Halifax will see some progress in a major renovation project that was announced in 2014.
The Halifax Regional School Board has released a video showcasing the changes students will see when they return from Christmas break.
Some of the completed work includes masonry repairs, new natural gas boilers, a renovated cafeteria, paved bus loop, landscaping and a new entranceway.
J.L. Ilsley was closed for a week last winter after a bad ice storm caused several leaks in the building. Roof repairs are part of the renovation plans, but aren't featured in the video.
In total, the project will cost $1 million.
