J.L. Ilsley reopens; 5 Halifax-area schools shut due to leaky roofs
J.L. Ilsley High School will finally open again Friday morning, however four other Halifax Regional School Board schools remain closed due to leaky roofs. A further school was shut Friday due to roof leaks — Bedford's Ecole Secondaire du Sommet, which is part of the Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial.
J.L. Ilsley High School will finally open again this morning after it was closed this week, however four other Halifax Regional School Board schools remain shut due to leaky roofs.
Bedford's École Secondaire du Sommet, which is part of the Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial, is also closed Friday due to roof leaks.
Winter weather has struck hard at schools across the province in the last week. Classes have been cancelled due to poor conditions, and some schools closed because of roof problems.
The Halifax Regional School Board schools that remain closed are:
- Astral Drive Junior High
- Beechville-Lakeside-Timberlea Senior Elementary
- Five Bridges Junior High
- St. Catherine's Elementary
They are scheduled to open again Monday.
