Arrest made in Joseph Douglas Cameron shooting death in Dartmouth
Police announced they had arrested the male teen at a Dartmouth home
Halifax police arrested a 17-year-old Thursday morning in connection with the March shooting death of Joseph Douglas Cameron.
The male teen was arrested at 8:30 a.m. at a home on Spring Avenue in Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Police say. Police said he was being questioned.
On March 29 at 5:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Spring Avenue and Mount Edward Road in Dartmouth. Cameron's body was found on the sidewalk.
In early May, police said they were looking for witnesses who may have seen a dark blue 2012 Kia Rondo in the area around the time Cameron was gunned down.
Just days after Cameron was killed, police searched three homes in the Kennedy Drive and Spring Avenue area of Dartmouth. They said they found items of "potential interest" but did not offer any more details on what was recovered.
