The Yukon Liberal Party has officially chosen a new leader.
Sandy Silver, the MLA for Klondike who has been the interim leader since August 2012, was acclaimed on Sunday.
Rebuilding the party is his top priority.
“My focus is to shine the light on the team that we’ve built. There’s an awful lot of names that are key figures in the Liberal Party in the Yukon, and it’s now time to start showcasing the rest of the team,” said Silver.
The new leader will formally accept his title with a speech at the territorial Liberal convention on March 1 at the Gold Rush Inn in Whitehorse.
