62 Yukoners vie for 19 seats
There are 62 candidates running to be one of 19 MLAs in the next Yukon government.

That's up slightly from 2006 when 58 people put their names forward, but this time around there's one more riding which may account for the increase.
Both the Yukon Party and the Liberals have a full slate of candidates for the Oct. 11 election.The NDP has candidates in all but one riding, Vuntut Gwitchin.
Two new parties have entered the political fray this time around - the Green Party and the Yukon First Nations Party. Both have fielded two candidates.
There are also two independents - Patricia Gilhooly in Watson Lake and Elvis Aaron Presley in Pelly-Nisutlin.
