The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says it has charged a man with attempted murder, after a weekend incident in Labrador City.
In a press release sent Tuesday morning, the RNC said officers responded to a violent altercation in the Cavendish Crescent area of the town around 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
They found a seriously injured 67-year-old man nearby, and emergency crews took him to the hospital.
RNC officers and provincial police officers with the Sûreté du Québec arrested a 35-year-old man the next morning outside Baie-Comeau, Que., nearly 600 kilometres along an isolated highway leading south of Labrador City.
The RNC release said the man appeared in court in Wabush on Monday.
