Breen's Deli armed robbery surveillance video released
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has released security footage of an armed robbery that happened last week in St. John's, in hopes that someone can help identify the person responsible.
The video shows a man with his face covered quickly enter Breen's Deli on Portugal Cove Road, before coercing the clerk into giving him cash from the register.
The RNC blurred the weapon in the video it released, however an officer previously told a CBC reporter it was believed to be a firearm.
Police said after the suspect took the money, he ran north on Portugal Cove Road.
The suspect is described by police as being 5'10" with an average build. At the time he was wearing a black jacket with a hood, blue jeans, a baseball hat and coloured sneakers. He also had his face covered with a light-coloured scarf.
There were no injuries during the robbery.
The RNC is asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
