Montreal's light-rail train, better known as the REM, is delayed in both directions.

The train's estimated frequency is 20 minutes.

The slowdown is caused by a problem with the switchers, the operator said.

It has not been determined as to when service will resume.

Special shuttle services will be offered soon during the interruption.

The STM, the city's transit authority, said it would temporarily withdraw articulated buses from its network as a precaution until roads are clear of snowbanks.

Some STM buses have been partly rerouted away from hills, such as buses 11 (Ridgewood), 50 and 144.
