Montreal police investigate fatal stabbing in Saint-Laurent
Victim was found unconscious and injured on a sidewalk

Police are investigating the death of a 30-year-old man in Montreal's Saint-Laurent borough on Thursday morning.
Montreal police spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils said a 911 call was made at around 4:15 a.m., reporting a conflict between two men in a building on Décarie Boulevard, near Beaudet Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the 30-year-old unconscious on a sidewalk, Chèvrefils said.
"He was injured to the upper body with a sharp object," she said.
The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
Chèvrefils said a 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to a detention centre.
Preliminary information gathered by police indicate the two men knew each other. The source of the conflict, however, was not yet known.
Chèvrefils said investigators were at the scene Thursday morning and officers were looking for possible footage from nearby surveillance cameras.
The man's death marks the ninth homicide of 2025 in Montreal. It comes only one day after the stabbing death of a teenager in the city's Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood.
