One man is dead and another injured following a collision at a car wash in Laval, Que., Tuesday morning.

Laval police spokesperson Geneviève Major said the crash happened at around 10:50 a.m. at a business located on des Laurentides Boulevard, near the intersection of De la Concorde Boulevard.

Major said a client was inside their vehicle when their car struck another vehicle. Part of the building's structure was also hit in the process and collapsed as a result of the impact.

During the collision, a 50-year-old worker was injured and declared dead at the scene. Another worker, a 38-year-old man, also suffered minor injuries.

The sequence of events, however, remains unclear.

"That's why we're investigating," Major said, adding police don't know if the workers were injured by the vehicle or as a result of the structure collapsing.

The CNESSST, Quebec's workplace health and safety board, has been notified, Major said.
