Woman sexually assaulted by cyclist

A cyclist while walking near Winnipeg's Wellington Crescent area sexually assaulted a 41-year-old woman.

A cyclist sexually assaulted a 41-year-old woman while she was walking near Winnipeg's Wellington Crescent, police said on Thursday.

She is the second woman in as many days to be assaulted by a person riding a bicycle.

According to police, the woman was walking around 11 p.m. Wednesday when she noticed someone on a bicycle slowly following her.

She continued to walk in the area of Harrow Street and Academy Road when the person on the bike aggressively groped her in the lower body then rode off, police said.

The woman did not need medical attention.

The suspect is described as male, about 19 years old with a thin build and short, dark hair. He was wearing a dark short-sleeved shirt and dark baggy shorts.

On Tuesday, a 31-year-old woman was sexually assaulted while jogging in Winnipeg's St. James neighbourhood.

A teen boy on a bicycle came up behind her and groped her lower body, police said.

He is described as about 15 years old, with short black hair, spiked in front and longer in the back, where some of it was dyed orange.

He was wearing sweatpants and earphones, and was riding a dark coloured mountain bike.
